Representative Projects

SEI Investment Campus  SEI Investment Campus
Oaks, PA

Advanced GeoServices design professionals have played a significant role in the site planning and engineering for the SEI Corporate Headquarters, which is an excellent example of the integration of landscape architecture and engineering in a single design process.  Our staff designed corporate plaza areas as well as planting and landscape treatments, including renovation of an existing pond. Site elements such as buildings, parking, pedestrian circulation, grading, stormwater management and planting work in harmony to create a landscape that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional. The SEI project has been cited in various design magazines and won the Montgomery County Planning Commission 1997 Outstanding Site Design Award.

Martin Luther King High School  Martin Luther King High School
Philadelphia, PA

This was the first project in a sweeping program by the School District of Philadelphia called the “Campus Parks Initiative.”  The goal is to transform the exterior of Philadelphia public schools to more park-like settings to enhance the school experience, provide site elements that support the curriculum and enable an interaction with the community. Improvements included an entry pavilion and arcade, an amphitheater, a wall of fame, signage, an ecology study area, a Mathematics and Science Garden, hydraulic pools and steps, supplemental landscape planting, a horticultural garden, overflow parking areas, drainage interceptor swales, a gymnasium entry plaza and changes to the pedestrian and vehicular circulation systems.

Primate Exhibit at the Philadelphia Zoo  Primate Exhibit at the Philadelphia Zoo
Philadelphia, PA

The Primate Reserve, the Philadelphia Zoo’s state- of-the-art primate facility, replaced the smaller facility which was tragically destroyed by fire. This 100,000-square-foot exhibit provides indoor and outdoor habitats for primate species including gorillas, orangutans, lemurs and spider monkeys. Advanced GeoServices staff were an integral part of the project team, identifying existing utilities and providing site/civil design services from conceptual development through construction.

Martin Farm Townhomes  Martin Farm Townhomes
Kennett Square, PA

This 55-acre tract, a former working farm, presented several natural resource conservation elements as well as significant topographical changes on the site. Woodlands, wetlands, floodplain, scenic views and vistas were incorporated into the design.  Coordination of the development with the municipality and local preservation groups resulted in minimal disturbance of natural site amenities while maintaining the development density required by the owner.

Swarthmore College Science Center  Swarthmore College Science Center
Swarthmore, PA

Swarthmore College’s goal was to create a state of the art science and classroom facility utilizing existing buildings and new construction within a constrained and sensitive site. Advanced GeoServices staff provided planning, design and construction phase services to renovate, expand and unify the campus science facilities. The project team’s approach addressed the integration of landscape and building space and provided for a transition from the designed landscapes of the central campus to the natural landscape of the Crum Woods immediately to the north. Work included careful coordination of design and engineering to provide a cost-effective, maintainable, innovative and environmentally responsible plan.

Philadelphia Airport Hangars  Philadelphia Airport Hangars
Philadelphia, PA

Expansion of runways at the Philadelphia International Airport forced relocation of the existing corporate hangars. Advanced GeoServices staff participated with the affected corporations, the City of Philadelphia Division of Aviation and the city’s consultants to select and pre-qualify an alternative site for the new corporate hangar facility. We prepared the site concept plan and construction documents for all site/civil and landscape design elements of the project as well as documentation and application for land development approval from several agencies. During construction, we reviewed payment requests and facilitated the inspection and construction monitoring process.

Check back periodically to learn about other civil engineering and site design projects we've worked on.
