Advanced GeoServices was part of the design team that created Urban Outfitters’ (URBN) latest destination – Devon Yard, located in Devon, Chester County, PA. Their destination is a town center that contains Anthropologie, Terrain, BHLDN Weddings, Amis Trattoria, Terrain Café, and a central courtyard. A venue for outdoor events is also included in the space and it’s called Terrain Garden, which can accommodate 150 guests in a “lush horticultural setting that transforms with the seasons to provide a unique backdrop for any occasion.”
Michael Gladnick and his team provided fill testing, land development plans, stormwater design, permitting, and construction documents. This redeveloped site continues to be inspired by its former occupant, Waterloo Gardens - the entire complex is adorned with plants that bring the outside inside. More than a shopping and retail center, URBN put a creative twist on this space because it revolves around hosting events, since our lives are a series of events. This center is designed for celebrating life’s milestones – birthdays, bridal showers, weddings, baby showers, garden and home accessories for your home, retirement, dining out, and clothes shopping - Devon Yards is the destination to fulfill all your life needs - no matter what stage of life you are in. The space has been designed to seamlessly integrate all of its components of its stores to fulfill your event needs, including clothing/accessories, floral arrangements, home and garden needs, food, and several four-season event spaces, including Ceremony Garden, Garden Porch, Reception Room, and Bridal Suite.
This space is a bride’s dream –lush, ethereal spaces inspired by European gardens, Devon Yard is a one-stop shop for brides and grooms. They can register at Anthropologie and Terrain, buy their wedding party clothing and accessories at BHLDN Weddings, floral arrangements provided by Terrain, bridal parties can get ready at the venue, guests can wait in the restaurants, the wedding feast catered by on-site restaurants,, and they can choose from several spaces in indoor/outdoor Terrain Garden to accommodate the phases of their event. David Ziel, Chief Development Officer for URBN, came up with this concept years ago to “create a space unlike any other”, which also compliments its other area destinations, including Terrain at Styers in Glen Mills, URBN @ King of Prussia Mall, and URBN Headquarters at the Navy Yard.
