Steve Kirschner will be giving a presentation on “Evolution of a Remedial Injection Program in Metamorphic Bedrock” at Battelle’s Third International Symposium on Bioremediation and Sustainable Environmental Technologies conference from May 18-21, 2015 in Miami, Florida. The presentation will be on Thursday at 9:15 am during Session F9 – Bioremediation of Deep Contamination.
Steve is a Senior Environmental Engineer and Principal at Advanced GeoServices and has worked on numerous complex remediation projects throughout the country.
We successfully attacked TCE in bedrock beneath a building by bedrock fracturing/injecting to enhance existing natural biodegradation using vegetable oil emulsion (VOE). Our success with subsurface distribution resulted in achieving cleanup goals in the targeted treatment depths (10 to 120 feet bgs) and also in non-injection, deeper depths (up to 200 feet bgs) by eliminating downward mass flux and physical distribution of VOE through vertical fractures.
